12 May Feature Wedding: Josh and Madeline Levick
Josh and Madeline chose a beautiful bush setting for their vintage country style wedding on February 7, 2015. The stunning Chapel Hill Retreat in the lower Blue Mountains provided the perfect backdrop for Josh and Madeline to celebrate their magical day with their gorgeous two year old son, Nate, their dancing bridal party and family and friends.
Madeline shares how it all came together for one perfect day.
Describe your wedding dress
I loved my dress. I am a healthy size 14 with curves and the fit of the Cosmobella dress was perfect for my body type. It’s an A-line dress with ivory beading on the bodice, white chiffon straps and skirt with a split down the middle with intricate beading along the edges
What did the bridesmaids wear?
They wore really pretty watermelon/coral pink flowy, chiffon knee high dresses. Their shoes were neutral coloured London Rebel super-comfortable Turret strappy shoes.
What look did the groomsmen go for?
The look was vintage bushman! They had jazz caps, navy moleskin trousers and ivory shirts with a brown tartan vest. They looked great!
How was the wedding styled?
A vintage country bush-style wedding would be the best way to describe it! I used a lot of hessian and lace with stained gum tree wood elements.
Where was the ceremony and reception?
The wonderful Chapel Hill Retreat in Berambing which is right near Bilpin in the beautiful Blue Mountains. It worked perfectly with the style of the wedding we wanted.
What flowers did you have in your bouquet?
I had a medium hand-tied bouquet loosely constructed with pink and red proteas, flowering gum and nuts, flannel flowers, white Geraldton wax and silver dollar gum tied together with an ivory satin and organza ribbon.
What gifts did you give to your guests?
We had jars of apricots in brandy and plums in Muscat all made by my mother and father-in-law. Even the brandy and Muscat as they previously owned a winery in the Hunter Valley.
Where was the honeymoon?
We went to the beautiful Iririki Resort in Vanuatu
What were your favourite three moments?
- Josh and I and our bridal party danced into the reception to all different classic songs.
- As Josh was doing his speech he mentioned our son Nate who is two years old. Nateentered the reception right on cue on a trike riding back and forth in front of the bridal table and loved all the cheering, clapping & laughing from our guests.
- Josh and I getting our golden hour photos dancing in the field and having a laugh.
